Stumbling into her super power
Katie feels like she stumbled into her super power. She got her real estate license because she had the time and interest, but not the intention of working in the field. Instead, she helped a couple of very close friends to buy or sell homes and thought that would be it.
But her close friends and clients kept referring more and more people to Katie. In under 4 years, she became a top-producing agent without spending a dollar on marketing or making a single sales call. During that time, Katie realized that her ‘hobby’ had become not only a lucrative business, but also the single best way for her to make a positive impact on the world around her.
Making an impact
Every aspect of her unique professional background that includes business strategy, marketing, business ownership, contract negotiations, and personnel management is brought to bear for each of her real estate clients. Katie gets the opportunity to learn about her clients hopes and dreams and to help them achieve those goals through real estate. She continues to run her business based entirely on the referrals of current and former clients. Katie deeply appreciates that support and is so proud of the impact she’s able to make in the lives of her clients.
Experience and education
Katie’s professional background and education is in business management – specifically brand strategy and marketing. Katie co-owned and operated Biker Barre, a boutique fitness studio on Capitol Hill, until 2019 when Katie happily sold her shares to her business partner in order to focus on real estate. Prior to Biker Barre she worked in advertising for many years advising clients such as Proctor & Gamble, Bank of America, and Volkswagen Group of America. Katie holds a BA and MBA from the University of Michigan. A devoted Michigan alum, Katie has also served as the President of the Washington, DC chapter of the Ross School of Business Alumni Association.
